 YOU ARE NOT A PERSON. JUST THE IMAGE OF ONE. once the shining star of the aviary as both an initiate and an operate, ruth de faoite — now a handler — is still considered one of the program's greatest successes. acquired at an extremely young age alongside her baby brother, saul, both children blossomed into their expected roles handsomely; though, it quickly became obvious that ruth excelled in both emotional detachment and brutality. a narcissist with a clear lack of empathy, ruth spent her time as an operative carrying out missions that often yielded high-count civilian casualties as opposed to single-target kills. as a handler, she is infamously demanding of all of her students (twice-over when it comes her own charges); ruth specializes in fostering the emotional and mental schisms necessary for initiatives to function properly. one part torturer and one part philosopher, ruth teaches the children the difficult art of emotional indifference and compartmentalization. those that are unable to field ruth's lessons both inside the chamber and out are either subsequently broken down by force or simply eliminated. despite her lack of empathy, ruth has a profound ability to lie — she uses this ability to manipulate the people around her and to conceal her true nature. most people find her 'charming'. her brother saul (formerly sapsucker) is currently on the run from the aviary, much to ruth's constant chagrin. the only stain upon her long record of faithful service to miss red is her on-going inability to dispose of saul properly or win him back.
